Day 2, headed by Shaka Brown and Jareau Almeyda has a different focus - The Business. Day 1, headed by Gordon Neil will focus on the stage. Gordon Neil has hand selected some of the strongest, most experienced artists and they will be sharing their experience with you! Do you want to know what makes a strong performance? Do you want candid answers on how you can improve your own stage presense and that of your team? Do you want to know how to cut through the fluff and get real answers and suggestions on how to take your performing skills to the top? Then bring your bag lunch, notebook, and a list of questions. We strongly believe will turn into an eye opening experience. Open to all Full pass holders, we strongly encourage performers to take advantage of this opportunity.  DJ Samurai We are proud to host the 2007 International Salsa Congress. This year the DC congress will host over 40 Workshops, with performers and instructors from around the world. We have confirmed guests from India, Japan, Canada, the UK, California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and the list continues. With DJ Bruno as the Master DJ, we know that the music will satisfy all dancers, and with Eileen Torres as the Master of Ceremonies, this will be an oppporunity to learn about the history of Salsa, as well as understand the current developments. Orquesta La Romana has conirmed that they will be kicking the event off on Friday night, and special Guest Vocalist Frankie Vasquez will be jamming with us as well! We will have some special surprise performances, and our international guest, DJ Samurai will be breaking out some music that he has been saving for this occasion! More hotel rooms are now available! We met with the hotel, and our hotel block has been sold out. However we managed to convince them to open up just 20 more rooms at the special dicount rate of $119/night.  Orquesta La Romana Orquesta La Romana is Confirmed for the DC Salsa Congress 2007. Orquesta La Romana, founded in 1985 has the longest history of any orchestra in the Washington DC area. Known for their hard hitting classic salsa sound, La Romana is the dancers choice for any activity. Directed by Edwin Ortiz, La Romana has shared stages with some of the greatest acts in salsa history. Currently, La Romana serves as the Tito Puente, Jr. (son of the late king Tito Puente) Orchestra on his tours from New York City to Richmond, Virginia. At the DC Congress in 2005 Orquesta La Romana jammed with Jimmy Bosch. In 2006 they set it off with timbalero Willie Villegas and Joel "Masacote" on the piano. This year they will be igniting the dancefloor with world reknowned vocalist Frankie Vasquez! |

Winsome Lee instructs her own classes and workshops in New York City. She was invited to conduct Salsa workshops in the 2000 Japan Congress in Tokyo, the 3rd Annual West Coast Congress in Los Angeles, and the 2003 New York Congress. In the Summer of 1999 she was invited to Hong Kong to perform in several Salsa events and conduct "New York Style Salsa" workshops for 6 months. During her stay in Hong Kong she performed and participated as guest instructor in most Salsa venues, and has appeared in interviews by Radio Hong Kong, Eve magazine, ATV, and CNN, which was broadcasted globally. She was invited to be an adjudicator in the First Hong Kong Salsa Championship in December 1999. Winsome accompanied Jimmy Anton in teaching "New York Style Salsa" workshops in Argentina in 1998 and 2000, and she performed in numerous theaters and nightclubs in Buenos Aires and Rosario. With Jimmy she has conducted workshops in the 2002 Dominican Republic Salsa Congress as well. Winsome has also appeared on the Diamante Show, music videos and performed for musicians including Celia Cruz, Tito Nieves, Orquesta de la Luz, Herman Olivera, and Jimmy Sabater. |
